Due to overwhelming popular demand, a second and definitely final Live At The Quarry date has been announced for Cat Power on Australia Day Eve, Tuesday 25th January.

The announcement follows a successful week for Cat Power’s first show on Monday 24 January, which went on sale on Monday and has already sold out! We were always confident this was going to be a special night – and the people of Perth seem to firmly agree.

CAT POWER ANNOUNCED FOR LIVE AT THE QUARRY ENCORE SEASON!

The enigmatic Cat Power returns to our shores this January performing ‘Live At The Quarry' for what promises to be one of the year’s most amazing shows.



Cat Power will again by joined by the 'Dirty Delta Blues', a purpose-built five-piece combo featuring Dirty Three drummer Jim White and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion guitarist Judah Bauer. The size of her shows has grown and in recent times Cat Power has appeared in a headlining sold-out performances at Perth's Astor Theatre, amongst others. This will be a unique opportunity to see Chan Marshall aka Cat Power in the intimate surrounds of one of Australia’s favourite venues. 



Cat Power, showcasing material from her new album (currently in progress and largely recorded by Chan herself) as well as old favourites and will again feature the talents of Jim White and Judah Bauer.

John Williamson adds 3rd date, plus Lior supports acts announced!

John Williamson has added a third and definitely final date to his Live At The Quarry tour dates. 

Williamson will now perform a final show on Thursday December 2, in addition to his previously announced dates on November 30 (sold out) and December 1, in support of his wonderful new 2 disc compilation ‘Absolute Greatest: 40 Years True Blue’.

And we’re excited to announce the addition of more names to the Live At The Quarry season for 2010/2011!
 
Joining Lior on his first date, Wednesday 17 November, will be a performance from the Benedict Moleta Band in support of his stunning new album Timesheet.
 
On the following night, Thursday 18 November, punters will be in for an extra special evening with two of Perth’s hottest up and coming acts performing in One Tiger Down and Will Udall.
 
As for the man himself, Lior released his brand new album ‘Tumbling Into The Dawn’ to critical acclaim on October 1 through Inertia.

Australian folk icon Lior released his brand new album ‘Tumbling Into The Dawn’ on Friday 1 October through Inertia, and to our ears it might just be his best yet!  He’s also proven so popular that we’ve opened a second date for him on Thursday 18 November, for what should be a very special night indeed!

With such a strong Australian contingent heading west for Live At The Quarry this season, its no surprise that John Williamson wasn’t our only artist recognised by ARIA this year.  Both Lisa Mitchell and Clare Bowditch have been nominated for the coveted Best Female Artist category, while Bowditch, who won that category in 2006, is also nominated for Best Adult Alternative Album.  Good luck all!
